Ítem Andalusian university students’ perception of their European identity: international orientation and experiences(2019) Méndez García, María del Carmen; Cores-Bilbao, EstherMulticultural European societies increasingly demand internationally oriented citizens, who are willing to actively participate in civic life and able to successfully access the labour market. The European dimension in education supposedly endows youngsters with civic values, multiculturalist attitudes and plurilingual competences which ultimately lead to raising awareness of their Europeanness. Formative years at university, pivotal to students’ individual life course and projects, are a decisive stage in the development of supranational, collective identityformation. Similarly, pan-European study programmes are aimed at inspiring a sense of European citizenship and identity, the most renowned of which within the Higher Education context is Erasmus+. By conducting focus group interviews, this paper probes Andalusian university students’ understanding of their European identity and verifies the causal dynamics between European identity-taking and foreign country sojourns, comparing the perceptions expressed by returnees to those by students who have not had the opportunity to participate in international study programmes (ISP) at higher education yet. Results evidence students’ apparent supranational orientation, general awareness of commonalities across Europe and utilitarian outlooks on the EU, although not a clear discernment of its institutions or a marked European identity.Ítem Anexos. It looks into the affective reactions to life in Spain and how these relate to the intercultural development of a cohort of 26 American students participating in a calendar year study abroad programme (SAP) in a Spanish university, a pertinent study given that Spain, which hosts 9.5% of total American students abroad, has become the third preferred destination of American university students (Institute of International Education, 2019). Although the literature on cultural dissonance highlights the prevalence of feelings of distress when sojourners are removed from their social support systems, findings divulge a myriad of feelings classified into 9 areas that show a balance between uncertainty and stress of study abroad (SA), and excitement and feelings of well-being. Departing from affective reactions, analysis has likewise been conducted on how students come to terms with a different reality. Data evince that understanding new meanings and symbols is done through a comparative/contrastive problematising orientation through which SA is presented as challenge rather than as threat. The paper concludes that SA and reflection upon it contribute to reassess and shift frames of reference, influencing intercultural development and personal growth.Ítem Creation and psychometric validation of the OPEH-NCQ (Older people’s Environmental Health-Nursing Competencies Questionnaire) in professionals and nursing students.(2024) Montoro-Ramírez, Eva María; Parra-Anguita, Laura; Álvarez-Nieto, Carmen; López-Medina, Isabel María; Montoro-Ramírez, Eva MaríaDatabase used for validation of the OPEH-NCQ (Older People's Environmental Health- Nursing Competencies Questionnaire)Ítem Data Management Plan -Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities -(2024-01-22) Rosas, Juan M.; Callejas-Aguilera, José E.; Nelson, James B.; Sanjuan, María C.This DMP aims to make the data from the studies conducted in the research project "Precursors, Mechanisms, and Individual Differences in Contextual Control (PMIDCC)” with Ref.: 2709149399-149399-4-823, available to the public for reuse with scientific purposes. The continuous advances in Information and Communication Technologies be able the use of online laboratories (OLs). Their use is increased due to the advantages they offer compared to conventional laboratories, as unfortunately verified during Covid-19 pandemic. OLs and Learning Management Systems (LMSs) are key technologies in the learning process field. Normally, the integration of OLs with LMSs is carried out using proprietary or ad-hoc solutions. Furthermore, there are standards that can be used for this integration, such as: LTI, IEEE P92741.1 (xAPI), SCORM and IEEE1876. This work elaborates a survey which has been provided to the experts of online laboratories for them to complete. Gathered information allowed authors to diagnose the level of knowledge and use of the main standards for creating and integrating OLs. In fact, the analysis of this information confirms that there is a lack of criteria for selecting one standard against the others and how use it in the online laboratory development. This work gives guidelines for selecting the most appropriate standard according to desired characteristics of the online laboratory under development.Ítem Data set of "Erudit AI SaaS: an artificial intelligence tool that uses RoBERTa to classify the level of employee engagement in companies"(2025-04-07) García-Navarro, Claudia; Reyes-Martínez, Ricardo Michel; Pulido-Martos, ManuelÍtem Dataset of "Analyzing the Role of Fe0 and Fe3+ in the Formation of Expanded Clay Aggregates"(2023-08-14) Moreno-Maroto, José Manuel; González-Corrochano, Beatriz; Martínez-Rodríguez, Ana María; Conde-Sánchez, Antonio; Cobo-Ceacero, Carlos Javier; Alonso-Azcárate, Jacinto; Uceda, Manuel; López-García, Ana Belén; Martínez-García, Carmen; Cotes, TeresaÍtem Dataset of "Can statistical methods optimize complex multicomponent mixtures for sintering ceramic granular materials? Visual literacy has been defined as a combination of skills needed to interpret the meaning of images, latent reasons behind their making and their impact on audiences. Individuals need to develop such skills to critically read the ‘vocabulary’ (content) and ‘grammar’ (composition) of images they are constantly flooded with to fully understand and appreciate the underlying meaning of visual representations of their own culture and other cultures, as well as the people belonging to different cultural groups. The Council of Europe’s Autobiography of Intercultural Encounters through Visual Media (AIEVM) has been designed to promote interculturality through the reflection on the other, as portrayed in visuals. By analysing AIEVMs produced by 18 adult learners of English in two contexts – featuring explicit intercultural training prior to AIEVM completion vs. its application without such previous input – the present study examines the impact of pertinent training in visual and intercultural competence development. The data suggest heightened levels of metacognition and critical thinking in the former context. Results for both groups also disclose the development of a powerful sense of self-discovery and empathy toward alterity, induced by the commonalities detected between the respondents themselves and the depicted. Overall, implementing the AIEVM seems to narrow the gap between the intercultural awareness discerned in both contexts, yet the dissimilar depth of the narratives produced corroborates the value of prior intercultural learning. The article concludes with a critical overview of the potential of the AIEVM, comprising prospective courses of action to supplement this instrument to sharpen users’ visual literacy and boost deeper intercultural reflection.Ítem Educación Digital Crítica en Adolescentes: Impacto de los sesgos en el uso de herramientas digitales (EDICA)(2025-02-01) Llorent-Vaquero, Mercedes; Ortega-Tudela, Juana M; Ortega-Tudela, Juana M; Llorent-Vaquero, MercedesEl proyecto se centra en analizar cómo los adolescentes perciben los sesgos presentes en la inteligencia artificial (IA) y las redes sociales (RRSS), y en desarrollar un programa educativo que los capacite para identificar y mitigar dichos sesgos. The aim of this study was to conduct a cultural adaptation and psychometric validation of the Healthcare Environmental Awareness Tool (HEAT) to assess the level of environmental awareness, sustainable behaviors, and their relationship to healthcare professionals' health in Spain. Methods A cross-sectional observational study was conducted to translate, adapt, and validate the HEAT questionnaire for the Spanish context. The sample comprised 450 healthcare professionals from 9 Spanish hospitals. The HEAT questionnaire was validated using item response theory, specifically through the polytomous Rasch model. It is organized into three main scales: HAS (Healthcare Awareness Scale), HPEB (Healthcare Professional Ecological Behavior Scale), and PEB (Personal Ecological Behavior Scale). Each scale includes two dimensions per item derived from paired questions. The first dimension addresses the specific topic of the scale, while the second focuses on the respondent’s belief about how environmental impacts affect human health. Results The HEAT questionnaire, initially comprising 62 items, was refined to a final version of 50 items. This version demonstrated robust reliability and validity, with satisfactory fit for both items and persons. Reliability indices were: HAS-1 (0.76 for persons, 0.98 for items), HAS-2 (0.82, 0.96), HPEB-1 (0.77, 0.99), HPEB-2 (0.79, 0.94), PEB-1 (0.83, 0.99), and PEB-2 (0.87, 0.97). Internal consistency, measured using Cronbach’s α and McDonald’s ω, yielded strong results: HAS-1 (0.79), HAS-2 (0.90), HPEB-1 (0.75), HPEB-2 (0.87), PEB-1 (0.81), and PEB-2 (0.92). No significant group differences were observed, confirming the instrument’s fairness in differential item analysis. Conclusions The HEAT questionnaire is a useful and accurate tool for measuring environmental awareness, sustainable behaviors, and perceived health impacts among healthcare professionals.
