[EN] Despite the widespread use of physical modalities in the treatment of neck pain, the scientific support that guarantees them is poor or non-existent, so the need to research into this topic arises. For this, disability measurement tools are needed. In this thesis, the Spanish version of "Neck Disability lndex", the scale of disability dueto neck pain most widely used in the world, is validated, and its interna! consistency, reliability, validity and sensitivity to change are hereby established. Once validated, this tool is used, in a randomized and double-blind controlled trial, to measure the effect of diathermy with microwaves in the nonspecific chronic neck pain. The result is that diathermy with microwaves is ineffective in terms of pain, disability, quality of life related to health, satisfaction, use of therapeutics co interventions and adherence to long term exercise.
