Resumen
[ES] El objetivo de esta Tesis es mejorar el aprendizaje de la Genética en Educación Secundaria Obligatoria. Para ello se han identificado las ideas previas de los estudiantes de ESO con respecto a genética antes de la educación formal, se han contrastado estas ideas previas con las mantenidas tras la misma (analizando la persistencia de estas ideas), se han estudiado las fuentes de información del alumnado sobre temas genéticos, se han analizado los significados que transmiten las películas sobre Genética, se han comparado los significados transmitidos por las películas con los significados personales de los estudiantes y se ha determinado si los primeros pudieran reforzar los errores de sus ideas previas o configurarse como obstáculo didáctico. Finalmente, se ha diseñado, implementado y evaluado un instrumento basado en el análisis de películas, que ayude a explicitar las ideas previas de los estudiantes, siendo un instrumento eficaz para el aprendizaje significativo sobre Genética.
[EN] The aim of this thesis is to improve learning of Genetics in Secondary Education. Previous ideas about genetics in students of Secondary Education has been identified before formal education. These ideas have been compared with these held a:fter formal education (analyzing the persistence of these ideas). Studenfs sources of information on genetic issues have been also studied. We have analyzed the meanings that the movies convey on Genetics, we have compared the meanings conveyed by movies with personal meanings of the students and we have determined whether the mistakes in the films could reinforce their preconceptions or configured them as a didactic obstacle. Finally, an instrument has been designed, implemented and evaluated based on the analysis of films to help explain the previous ideas of students, being an effective Genetics meaningful learning instrument.
