LA PROSTITUCIÓN EN CASTILLA-LA MANCHA: SITUACIÓN ACTUAL, RELACIONES DE PODER E INTERVENCIONES SOCIALES

Abstract

La presente tesis constituye un trabajo de investigación antropológica sobre el fenómeno de la prostitución en Castilla-La Mancha. En la investigación se muestra el modo en que se organiza la prostitución en el territorio de la comunidad autónoma, las características sociodemográficas de las mujeres que ejercen la prostitución y la visión de la prostitución de los demás actores que también intervienen en la prostitución, tanto los clientes como los gerentes de los locales de prostitución. De igual forma, se realiza un análisis de las relaciones de poder que se establecen entre los diferentes actores que intervienen en la prostitución, que puede aportar nuevo conocimiento en el ámbito de la prostitución. También se realiza un análisis de los servicios sociales y las políticas públicas respecto a la prostitución en Castilla-La Mancha y una serie de recomendaciones que, si se aplicaran, podrían mejorar la vida de las mujeres que ejercen la prostitución.

This thesis is a work of anthropological research into the phenomenon of prostitution in Castilla-La Mancha. The research shows the way in which prostitution is organised in this autonomous region, the sociodemographic characteristics of the women working in prostitution and the view the other players involved in prostitution, namely the clients and the brothel-keepers, have of this activity. The thesis also contains an analysis of the power relationships established between the different players involved, which can provide new insights in the area of prostitution. There is also an analysis of the social services and the public policies with regard to prostitution in Castilla-La Mancha, and a series of recommendations which, if applied, might improve the life of women working in prostitution.
