GESTIÓN Y TUTELA DEL PATRIMONIO FERROVIARIO EN CUBA: ORIGEN, DESARROLLO Y EVOLUCIÓN. ESTUDIO COMPARATIVO DE LAS POLÍTICAS DE CONSERVACIÓN Y DIFUSIÓN

Abstract

Esta investigación es un aporte urgente a la preservación del ferrocarril cubano, que está al borde de perderse para siempre. Se examina sistemáticamente la historiografía del ferrocarril y se comparan las políticas española y británica de gestión y difusión del patrimonio industrial en general, y del ferrocarril en particular. El objetivo principal es proporcionar un ejercicio integral a favor de la preservación de este patrimonio, y establecer una perspectiva más amplia sobre su corpus mientras se estudian ejemplos significativos dentro de los tres países analizados. El estudio académico va más allá del estándar construido y objetual que se ha seguido hasta ahora y se extiende al paisaje cultural y los valores intangibles. La investigación ratifica el carácter identitario de este patrimonio a nivel nacional y en cada comunidad donde se ubican estos bienes y tradiciones, y cómo interactúan, conformando una parte de su identidad.

This research is an urgent contribution to the preservation of the Cuban railway, which is on the brink of being lost forever. It systematically examines the historiography of the railway and compares the Spanish and British management and dissemination policies of industrial heritage, specifically for railways. The aim is to provide a comprehensive exercise in favor of preserving this heritage, and to establish a broader perspective on its corpus while studying significant examples within the three countries analyzed. The academic study goes beyond the constructed and objective standard that has been followed until now and extends to the cultural landscape and intangible values. The research asserts the identity nature of this heritage at the national level and in each community where these goods and traditions are located, and how they interact, shaping a part of its identity.
