The aim of this article is to reconstruct the musical activity and repertoire of the Collegiate Church of Castellar during Tomás Micieces II's tenure as chapel master (1679-85) through the documentary sources preserved both within the institution and externally. The significant fact that Micieces II was one of the most prominent musicians of the time in the Iberian Peninsula is coupled with the particularity that the music chapel of the collegiate church was subject to the private patronage of the Counts of Santisteban and not to that of the Church; this circumstance determines the internal functioning regime of the chapel.
