Músicas iberoamericanas en red

Abstract

El argumento central de este texto es que la música ha funcionado históricamente como un agente clave en la creación y transformación de redes culturales dinámicas en Iberoamérica. Estas redes han facilitado el intercambio de ideas, prácticas y repertorios, contribuyendo a la configuración de identidades y culturas colectivas en la región y más allá. El volumen subraya cómo la movilidad de músicos, instrumentos y repertorios, junto con los circuitos trasatlánticos y las trayectorias transnacionales, ha moldeado no solo las prácticas musicales, sino también los imaginarios culturales y la memoria histórica. Además, argumenta que estas conexiones culturales, tanto en contextos coloniales como contemporáneos, han sido fundamentales para entender las interacciones entre las Américas, la península ibérica y otras regiones del mundo. A través de cinco bloques temáticos, el libro enfatiza la importancia de estudiar las redes musicales como sistemas dinámicos que integran procesos históricos, sociales y culturales, permitiendo una comprensión más profunda de las músicas iberoamericanas como fenómenos interconectados en un marco global. Este enfoque interdisciplinario destaca cómo las prácticas musicales no solo reflejan, sino también construyen y negocian identidades y memorias culturales.

The central argument of this text is that music has historically functioned as a key agent in the creation and transformation of dynamic cultural networks in Ibero-America. These networks have facilitated the exchange of ideas, practices, and repertoires, contributing to the shaping of collective identities and cultures within the region and beyond. The volume underscores how the mobility of musicians, instruments, and repertoires, along with transatlantic circuits and transnational trajectories, has shaped not only musical practices but also cultural imaginaries and historical memory. It further argues that these cultural connections, both in colonial and contemporary contexts, have been fundamental to understanding the interactions between the Americas, the Iberian Peninsula, and other regions of the world. Through five thematic sections, the book highlights the importance of studying musical networks as dynamic systems that integrate historical, social, and cultural processes, offering a deeper understanding of Ibero-American music as interconnected phenomena within a global framework. This interdisciplinary approach emphasizes how musical practices not only reflect but also construct and negotiate cultural identities and memories.
