LA TÉCNICA VIOLINÍSTICA DE NICOLÓ PAGANINI (1782-1840): ANÁLISIS Y ADAPTACIÓN INDIVIDUAL EN LA PRÁCTICA INTERPRETATIVA

Abstract

sta tesis doctoral pretende recrear la técnica y estilo interpretativo de Nicolò Paganini bajo criterios históricamente informados. Dado que Paganini no llegó a crear una escuela con discípulos que conocieran y transmitieran los rudimentos de su técnica ni dejó por escrito un tratado, se hace imprescindible investigar detalladamente las escasas fuentes coetáneas disponibles. Para abordar esta labor se ha recurrido a una metodología mixta que engloba tanto el estudio histórico y analítico de fuentes primarias, como la organología (explorando cuerdas, arcos e instrumentos similares a los que pudo usas Paganini) o la autoetnografía (aplicando la información obtenida a su propia técnica y proceso interpretativo). Finalmente se evidenciará este proceso en el estudio y ejecución del Tema con variaciones sobre "God save the King" de Paganini, que pueda servir como ejemplo de estudio y adquisición de conocimientos transferible a otras obras del autor y ayude a futuros intérpretes a comprender la técnica de Paganini. This doctoral thesis aims to recreate the technique and interpretive style of Nicolò Paganini under historically informed criteria. Given that Paganini did not create a school to transmit the rudiments of his technique to others, nor is there evidence of him writing a treatise on the matter, it is essential to investigate, in detail, the few contemporary sources available. In order to address this body of work, a mixed methodology has been used that encompasses both the historical and analytical study of primary sources, such as organology (exploring strings, bows, and instruments similar to those that Paganini may have used) or auto-ethnography (applying the information obtained to his own interpretive technique and process). Finally, this is substantiated by the study and execution of Theme and variations on "God Save the King" by Paganini. This research, in addition to the subsequent acquisition of knowledge and comprehension of the subject, can potentially serve as an example of study transferable to other compositions by the author, which will be instrumental in assisting performers of the future in understanding the technique of Paganini.
