Resumen
La actividad turística en un territorio se convierte en una estrategia de desarrollo local, para ello es necesario conocer su potencial, los factores que lo condicionan y su capital social que influyen en su dinámica turística. Esta dinámica se basa en estructuras, fortalezas e interacciones reflejados en diferentes niveles o multicapas. La metodología se basa en el diseño de un sistema de indicadores, la construcción de índices compuestos y la segmentación mediante un análisis clúster que mide el desarrollo turístico. Una vez segmentados los territorios identifica a los actores a partir de elementos de poder, influencia y urgencia y, en base a la aplicación de la Metodología de Redes Sociales (ARS) conoce la estructura y fortaleza de sus relaciones. El caso de estudio para validar esta metodología es Ecuador, un país con un interesante potencial turístico con factores que impulsan o limitan su grado de desarrollo turístico.
