TRASTORNO DE ESTRÉS POSTRAUMÁTICO PERINATAL: MAGNITUD DEL PROBLEMA, FACTORES ASOCIADOS Y VALIDACIÓN DE UN CUESTIONARIO EN POBLACIÓN ESPAÑOLA

Abstract

El trastorno de estrés postraumático postparto (TEPP) es un problema prevalente basado en el impacto psicológico que la experiencia del parto ha provocado en la madre. Las mujeres que experimentan este trastorno manifiestan problemas a nivel físico, psicológico y social. Este problema puede afectar al bebé, a la pareja y a futuros embarazos. Conocer la magnitud del Trastorno de Estrés Postraumático Perinatal y sus factores asociados, así como validar el cuestionario “Perinatal Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Questionnaire (PPQ)” en población española para el cribado fue el objetivo. Las características psicométricas son adecuadas, lo que lo hace apropiado para la práctica clínica en el ámbito español. Así mismo, se elaboran modelos que pueden predecir el riesgo de TEPP. También, se han identificado algunas prácticas clínicas, actuaciones de los profesionales o el resultado del parto, entre otras, como factores de riesgo, pudiendo algunos de ellos contribuir a mantener el trastorno a largo plazo.

Postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a prevalent problem based on the psychological impact that the experience of childbirth has had on the mother. Women who experience this disorder manifest physical, psychological and social problems. This problem can affect the baby, the partner, and future pregnancies. The objective was to know the magnitude of the Perinatal Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and its associated factors, as well as to validate the “Perinatal Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Questionnaire (PPQ)” in the Spanish population. The psychometric characteristics are adequate, which makes it appropriate for clinical practice in the Spanish setting. Likewise, models are developed that can predict the risk of PTSD. Also, some clinical practices, professional actions or the result of childbirth, among others, have been identified as risk factors, some of which may contribute to maintaining the disorder in the long term.
