Resumen
[ES] La investigación se ubica en el campo de la formación continua de la figura del Asesor Técnico Pedagógico (ATP) de Educación Básica en Michoacán, México, la cual parte del análisis del concepto de asesoría educativa, los ámbitos en los que se desarrolla, el rol que se le asigna al ATP y los mecanismos para su formación permanente, así como la revisión de los criterios que se aplican para la selección del asesor y el perfil requerido en los documentos oficiales y su contrastación con la realidad. Las indagaciones y conclusiones del estudio aportan elementos para la definición de algunos aspectos a considerar en el perfil profesional de los docentes que desempeñan esta función, así como posibles líneas para la elaboración de una propuesta de formación continua que fortalezcan sus competencias profesionales, en la mejora de la calidad educativa.
