La Caja Rural de Jaén (1957-2017). Un estudio histórico y económico

Abstract

El objetivo principal de esta tesis doctoral es la construcción de la historia de la Caja Rural de Jaén desde su constitución, en 1957, hasta 2017. A través de un análisis histórico y económico se pretende conocer cómo, a lo largo del tiempo y a través de las distintas circunstancias del entorno, la entidad ha mantenido su actividad sin olvidar su fin original de servir a las necesidades financieras de sus socios y contribuir al desarrollo socioeconómico de su territorio de influencia. Para conocer en contexto en el que surge y se desenvuelve la entidad, se presenta previamente una síntesis de la historia bancaria tanto a nivel regional (Andalucía) como provincial (Jaén). Para ello se realiza un análisis tanto normativo como territorial de la evolución del sistema financiero en sus tres tipologías de entidades: bancos, cajas de ahorros y cooperativas de crédito, con una especial atención a las cajas rurales, incluidas en estas últimas. The main objective of this doctoral thesis is the construction of the history of the Caja Rural de Jaén from its constitution, in 1957, to 2017. Through a historical and economic analysis it is intended to know how, over time and through the different circumstances of the environment, the entity has maintained its activity without forgetting its original purpose of serving the financial needs of its partners and contributing to the socioeconomic development of its territory of influence. To know the context in which the entity arises and develops, a summary of the banking history is previously presented both at the regional (Andalusia) and provincial (Jaén) levels. For this, a regulatory and territorial analysis of the evolution of the financial system is carried out taking into account its three types of entities: banks, savings banks and credit cooperatives, with special attention to rural savings banks, included in the latter.
