Accessory penalties in the italian legal system

The paper aims to reconstruct the current appearance of additional penalties in the Italian legal system. In particular, attention will focus on: the uncertain identification of additional penalties compared to other adverse effects of the sentence, attributable instead to different legal institutions; the increasingly rich and articulated type of accessory punishment; the evolution, over time, of the discipline of ancillary penalties; the “old” and “new” functions assigned to additional penalties
