DESARROLLO DE COMPETENCIAS PROFESIONALES DEL PROFESORADO EN FORMACIÓN INICIAL PARA LA ENSEÑANZA DEL PENSAMIENTO CRÍTICO Y LA COMPRENSIÓN DE LA NATURALEZA DE LA CIENCIA

Abstract

Formar a la ciudadanía para comprender sobre la ciencia y participar con fundamento en torno a sus procesos y productos, es un objetivo esencial de la educación científica. Por ello, se presenta el diseño de una propuesta formativa, dirigida a mejorar las competencias docentes para la enseñanza de la naturaleza de la ciencia y del pensamiento crítico, siguiendo el marco teórico del conocimiento didáctico del contenido, así como los resultados de su desarrollo con estudiantes del Grado en Educación Primaria. Para evaluar su efectividad, se emplean análisis cuantitativos y cualitativos que ofrecen una visión sobre su implementación en el contexto real de la formación inicial profesional de docentes, y su efecto en las variables bajo estudio. Los resultados muestran la contribución de la propuesta a los conocimientos y creencias del futuro profesorado para abordar la planificación didáctica de la naturaleza de la ciencia y del pensamiento crítico en contextos científicos

Training citizens to understand science, and to reflectively participate about its processes and products, is an essential objective of science education. Therefore, the design of a training proposal is presented, aimed at improving teaching skills for teaching the nature of science and critical thinking, following the theoretical framework of the pedagogical content knowledge, as well as the results of its development with students of the Primary Education Degree. To evaluate its design, quantitative and qualitative analyses are used, which offer a vision of its implementation in the real context of initial professional teacher training, and its effect on the variables under study. The results show the contribution of the proposal to the knowledge and believes of future teachers to address the planning teaching of the nature of science and critical thinking in scientific contexts.
