Methods: An intergroup, intragroup and multigroup design on three groups were used as well as experimental methodology. Women above 60 years old (N=43, age=67.74 ± 5.03 years), completed a proprioceptive and resistance training during three months and three sessions a week. Participants were divided into: control group (CG) (n=11; age=67.09 ± 6.25 years), does not do the experimental training. Experimental group 1 (EG1: N= 16; age= 66.94 ± 4.14 years) performed a proprioceptive and resistance training program of 40 minutes, adding the use of a videogame during 20 minutes. Experimental group 2 (EG2) (N=16; age=69.00 ± 4.99 years), performed the same training without the videogame training. Results: We found an improvement in EG1 in body fat, balance with and without vision, dominant hand isometric force and VO2max. The EG2 group improves in body mass index (BMI), body fat, non-dominant hand isometric force and VO2max. CG does not change. Conclusion: Joining a physical training program, including proprioceptive and aerobic resistance exercises result in a weight and BMI drop, and a VO2max improvement in both groups (EG1 and EG2). Participants: 24 athletes (male) took part in this study. Twelve Judoist (age: 20.3 ± 3.9 years, weight: 76.4 ± 10.4 kg; height: 179.4 ± 5.3 cm; BMI: 32.2 ± 1.9 kg/m2) and twelve freestyle wrestlers (age: 19.6 ± 4.5 years, weight: 65.3 ± 13.6 kg; height: 177.5 ± 5.7 cm; BMI: 23.8 ± 1.8 kg/m2) participated. Methods: To evaluate the F-V profile, the participants performed a squat jump (SJ) without load, as well as with different load conditions (0, 25, 50, 75, and 100% of athlete’s body mass). To assess the height of the jump, the OptoGait system was used. Consequently, the theoretical maximal force (F0); the theoretical maximal velocity (V0); maximal mechanical power output (Pmax); slope of the linear F-V relationship (Sfv); optimal F-V profile (Sfvopt); and the differences between Sfv and Sfvopt (FVimb%) were obtained. Results: A higher F0 and lower V0 were found in Judo athletes compared to wrestlers. Significant differences were found in Sfv and FVimb (p<0.001). Conclusion: The F-V profile is an accurate, reliable, and economical method that facilitates the evaluation of the current state of the athlete individually. Practical applications: The F-V profile method allows coaches and athletes to adjust their training objectives to achieve a higher level in their sport.Ítem Force–velocity profiles in CrossFit athletes: A cross-sectional study considering sex, age, and training frequency(Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport, 2023-03-03) Párraga Montilla, Juan Antonio; Cabrera Linares, José Carlos; Jiménez Reyes, Pedro; Moyano López, Manuel; Serrano Huete, Victor; Morcillo Losa, José Alfonso; Latorre Román, Pedro ÁngelIntroduction: The force–velocity profile has been analysed previously in different sports modalities; nevertheless, it has not been analysed in CrossFit. Objective: The aim of this study was to report neuromuscular characteristics of CrossFit athletes using their individual force-velocity profile, investigating differences according to sex, age, and training frequency. Materials and Methods: 72 males (33.17 ± 6.86 years; BMI: 25.93 ± 3.64 kg/m2) and 18 females (30.11 ± 6.92 years; BMI: 23.53 ± 3.98 kg/m2) participated in this study. The force-velocity profile was calculated using Samozino’s method. Furthermore, neuromuscular characterization was completed with a squat jump and three drop jumps (20, 30, and 40 cm). Results: Regarding sex, significant differences in all analysed mechanical variables (p < 0.001) were found except for the theoretical maximal force (p = 0.944). No significant differences were found between age groups. Considering training frequency, athletes who train more than 5 days per week showed higher performance in all analysed mechanical variables (p < 0.05). Conclusion: CrossFit athletes have a force-velocity profile more oriented towards velocity than force. Males and females have different neuromuscular characteristics, also neuromuscular improvements, can be achieved at any age. Moreover, higher neuromuscular performance is developed with a training frequency of 5 days or more per week.Ítem PERFIL DEL ENTRENADOR DE BALONCESTO EN LA ETAPA ESCOLAR EN ANDALUCÍA(2018) Herrera López, Eva M.; Lozano Aguilera, Emilio; Serrano Huete, Victor; Párraga Montilla, Juan A.El estudio de las características del entrenador de baloncesto puede aportar datos de interés que contribuyan a la mejora de sus competencias, a la vez que posibilite mayor eficacia en el proceso de aprendizaje de los jugadores. El objetivo de este estudio es conocer el perfil de los entrenadores de las categorías infantil y cadete masculina y femenina de baloncesto en Andalucía. Participaron 117 entrenadores activos en las categorías de referencia, respondiendo a un cuestionario. Los resultados muestran que los entrenadores suelen ser hombres, de edades comprendidas entre 25 y 44 años con titulación mínima requerida para realizar las funciones como entrenador. Predominan las categorías masculinas sobre las femeninas, siendo principalmente un club deportivo el organismo donde se realiza la función de entrenador.Ítem The body balance variability of judo athletes during a contest(Editorial Boards of scientific journals,, 2021-07-13) Serrano Huete, Victor; Latorre Román, Pedro A.; García Pinillos, Felipe; Romero Franco, Natalia; Morcillo Losa, José A.; Párraga Montilla, Juan ABackground and Study Aim: One important aspect to know with accuracy and with influence in a judo contest is the balance response that it has on athletes. The purpose was to know the variability in body balance during the successive bouts of a judo contest and possible loss percentages in this ability. Material and Methods: Twenty-two men performed five 5-minute bouts with 15 minutes of passive rest. Immediately after each bout, in rest time, balance abilities indicators were tested in a Sway test: centre or pressures (COP), ellipse of area (EA), Sway long (SL) and mean velocity (MV) in dominant (D), non-dominant (ND) and both legs (B). To compare baseline test data and successive bouts, ANOVA was used. Results: ANOVA revealed significant differences in EAD (ellipse of area dominant leg) p = 0.05, SLND (Sway long no dominant leg) p<0.001, SL2 (Sway long both legs) p = 0.009, MVND (mean velocity no dominant leg) p = 0.01 and MVD (mean velocity dominant leg) p = 0.003. In percentages, some decreases of 51.24% in EAD, 44.92% in SLND, 24.48% in SLB, 62.10% in MVND, 27.18% in MVD and 48.86% in MV2 (mean velocity both legs) were found. Fifteen minutes of rest-time was not enough for recovery the baseline levels in body balance abilities. Conclusions: The balance ability is modified during a judo contest. There is an important loss that affects to assessment of dominant, no dominant and mean values to both legs. Due to the fact that there are a high variability of situations that occurs in judo and individuals adaptations postural to aim a high performance, there is not a proportional loss in balance that in others capacities.Ítem The variability of strength production capacities during a judo contest(Physical Activity Review, 2023-01-04) Serrano Huete, Victor; Latorre Román, Pedro; García Pinillos, Felipe; Morcillo Losa, José A.; Jiménez Reyes, Pedro; Párraga Montilla, Juan A.Background. The muscular response of athletes in a judo contest is one of the most important aspect to measure with precision. Objective. Our purpose was to obtain and analyse the variability of strength associated to muscular performance parameters during a judo contest. Methods. Thirty-five men performed five 5-minute bouts with 15 minutes of passive rest. Immediately after each bout, muscular performance parameters were tested: countermovement jump (CMJ), maximal dynamic strength capacities (mean power velocity (MPV), mean strength (MS), maximum strength (MXS), mean power (MP) and maximum power (MXP)) in upper body, dominant (DHS) and non-dominant handgrip isometric strength (NDHS). ANOVA to compare baseline test data and successive bouts was used. Results. ANOVA revealed significant differences in NDHS (p<0.001), DHS (p<0.001), CMJ (p<0.001), MPV (p<0.001), MXS (p<0.001), MP (p<0.001) and MXP (p<0.001). No significant differences in MS (p = 0.008) were found. Some significant correlations between NDHS and ΔPMX (r=0.368, p=0.050), MPV and ΔMXS (r=0.528, p=0.001) and ΔMXP (r=0.683, p<0.001), MPX and ΔMXS (r=0.528, p=0.001) and ΔMP (r=0.877, p<0.001) were found. Conclusion. Due to judo contest can be considered a high intensity exercise, it produces an amount of muscular fatigue and therefore significant loss strength that it cannot be recovery during rest-times between successive bouts. For this reason, it was a high variability in strength production capacities, which are modified during a judo contest
